They held each other, knowing it would be the last. The pretending was over, the separation was inevitable. He had said all he could say, the damage was beyond repair. Words could not undue what actions had done. She was holding him tightly but was clinging more tightly to the fading memories of their love. A love that was fading so fast it almost seemed none existent. Goodbye was all she whispered. Knowing that was all she could say without her heart breaking right there and having to leave half of herself with him.
